uhhh.....ew.

There was only one. It looked like a very skinny, long, black meal worm.
Also I moved the crates around and found quite a few dead dubias.

I just bought some new egg crates and will be doing a total cleaning as soon as they come in.

Any ideas?

How long was it? Could have been a number of things. First thought was a phoenix worm (black soldier fly larvae) but you said it was long... which wouldn't make sense.

Dead dubia (as long as they are adults) are totally normal. A decent sized colony will always have adults dying off. If they aren't adults, then I might be concerned and start looking at the bigger picture... otherwise I don't think you need to worry.

Nah, it didn't really look like a phoenix worm. It looked longer and skinnier. I have no idea what it is.
Originally I thought it might be one of those carpet beetle larvae, but it wasn't fuzzy.

There were a few adults, but mostly medium nymphs.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
