A friend of a friend just dropped his dragon off to me this evening because he said it has been acting weird for a few months and didn't know what to do. After observing it this evening and asking him husbandry questions i have decided its MBD. My question is how severe can it be without being able to be reversed? He is currently jerking when he walks, lack of appetite "still a good weight 360g", and constipation. He said he only poops every two maybe three days. His setup was close but he was using a cfl light and feeding him kale "heard that oxalates in kale can bind to calcium and the dragon wont absorb it" I put him in a spare cage with a MVB bulb and the temp in the basking area was steady at 97 degrees before the lights went out. He is able to be within 9 inches of the bulb. I will put him on the diet of my dragons "dubia, silk worms, horned worms, collard greens, squash and some fruit from time to time" I also have some calcium glubionate i will start him on daily. He said he will only eat from your hand and no longer chased the crickets he was feeding him....poor guy...he is a good looking dragon and his wife is VERY attached.....she started to cry when i told her i thought it was mbd and explained it to her.....
I will do what i can but want to give them reasonable expectations.... thanks for the help in advance
