Hi,
New beardie owner here. My little one's name is Kong, and he started showing neurological symptoms about a week ago. He has been to a vet I found on here as of 3 days ago. I have had him for about 1 month, he is 8 weeks old, and according to the vet 7 grams (which is underweight by a lot apparently). His symptoms came on very quickly he was fine last Thursday and by Friday during bath time, he had his first episode of stargazing and flipping and rolling. Since then he has gotten progressively worse. My setup is a 20 gallon long 30"x12"x12" with a 24" T8 Reptisun 10.0 ho attached underneath the tank mesh lid, and a 72-watt basking lamp on a dimmer. He has three digital thermometers in the enclosure that monitor his basking temp, his cold side, and his warm side, plus an IR laser thermometer to detect surface temp of basking spot. The temps are cool side 80 degrees, warm side 90 degrees, basking ambient temp is around 100 degrees, and basking surface temp is a big area made of wood, so it ranges from 104 to 112 degrees. The vet said he has a ton of coccidia and Oxyurides and has us giving him meds for that while the ADV test is being processed. We can get him to eat if we open his mouth and put a worm in or some baby food he will then chew it up and swallow himself. He is incapable of eating himself as his neuro issues are so bad that he misses when he tries though he hasn't even tried since yesterday. I'm just wondering if you guys have any thoughts as the information I have found here has been invaluable so far. At this point, he is eating a little chicken and turkey baby food along with his meds daily and a phoenix worm or two if we can manage. phoenix worms have been his staple since we got him with a few crickets here and there though he really is not a fan. I also offer a little collard greens on the days before he got sick though he rarely ate any of it. Thank you for any advice you may have ahead of time. Below is a picture of him before he got sick and of his setup. This was only a temp setup as I am in the process of building a 4x2x2 and hoping hell be alive to use it.
