Flood Light.....??

Hi,
Im going to switch over to just a regular flood light from my repti glo 75W basking light becasure im hearing all these bad things about the Repti glo UVB so im not sure if the basking bulb (being the same brand) will be hurting my dragons eyes.

I was looking at flood lights and i read ppl saying on here they need to be white.....what is white? like have a foggy white coating on them? beacuse the ones i have seen are clear and then at the top round part of the light looks like its just thicker glass...is this what they mean?

And if im using a 75Watt basking bulb (tight beam) right now would i use a 75 watt flood light to try and keep around the same temps?? or would i use a 100W?

the halogen flood lights get alot hotter. . . a 60watt halogen flood would put my basking temps at about 110 from 12 inches away. I live in so cal tho, so the ambient temps are a bit higher then most of the people on this forum.

yeah i live in canada so maybe a 75 would work......its cold here right now :evil: i hate it!!!!!! i wish i lived somewhere hot......alll year round, i frickin HATE winter.....im a summer gal....

I've been using a 150w flood light.. but I live in a Michigan basement with below zero temps.. so that might make a difference

I'm in North Carolina and the temps are around 40-50F. I use a 50W flood light and my temps are perfect.
