flipping himself over

I'm worried about Oscar - If you haven't been keeping up with his story it's a long one

Just today I noticed that when he's walking (trying to) his right arm is getting caught under his body and he almost looks like he's about to flip himself over which If I understand correctly will kill them.

He was on paper towel which was getting all messed up of course because of his walking attempts - he has no furniture to make him flip

I took out his paper towels and neatly folded a regular bath towel as evenly as possible to fit the whole tank and he's still doing it.

What else can I do? I can't watch him 24/7 either - what do I do?

Do you have anything smaller you can put him in? What if you put him in an enclosure he just fits in so he doesn't walk around? Maybe a small bin? You're back to adjusting your lights and temps, but it may be worth a try if you can give him just enough room but not too much. I'm so shocked he is doing that now! Did your vet do a blood culture on him? I know he did the fluid culture from his elbow, just curious about blood.

I'm not sure about a blood culture - we did send his blood for testing - not sure if that included trying to culture anything

Hello Lesley,

Which UVB light are you using again? How close is it & is there any plastic or screen in between him & the UVB?
He is on liquid calcium, correct?

Tracie - I use reptisun 10.0s for all my boys - it's probably about 8ish inches from him since I took out his mini half log- it's suspended below the screen - no plastic cover on the fixture

As far as the liquid calcium I've been reducing how often I give it to him lately because the vet thinks the deposits in his elbows that are showing up on his x-ray and causing the swelling might be calcium deposits
