i just rescued my fist bearded dragon Bindi about two weeks ago. i was told she is a little over a year and she is about 15 inches long. before i got her she was fed mostly salad and little protein. now i feed her mostly crickets with five roaches as treats about once to twice a week. she is a voracious eater, but i am not sure i am feeding her enough. at first i gave her fifty crickets and five roaches and she consumed them all, but now i give her about 25 crickets because i am afraid to over do it. am i giving her enough? i also feed her in a separate container because her enclosure has a lot of hiding places for the insects, she doesnt seem to mind but i wouldnt mind any feed back on this. i also find that she now shows very little interest in her salads now, she only seems to touch them if i skip a day of insects. i find myself purposely not feeding her live food a day a week just so she will touch her greens. is this normal or should i worry? i also dust all of her live food with a calcium supplement and multivitamin. the multivitamin has beta carotene instead of VA to ensure no overdoses but im not sure i am overdoing it so, again, any opinions on this would be helpful. i also dont have a set feeding schedule because i work erratic hours that change daily, i hope this is not a problem, though she doesnt seem to mind. other than that she is alert, very curious, and watches my every move, i dont think she was handled much before i rescued her but she seems to be adjusting nicely.

My rescue was the same way, was fed mostly greens (wrong ones) and very few protein. He was very happy to get the protein and did slowly go back to eating some his veggies. When there young they should be eating more protein than veggies so could kinda be making up for some lost times. Keep the veggies in the tank and feed them protein they will see that there are choices for them to eat. May want to take to a Reptile vet as well it may have some bacteria problems also, that was the case with mine. 1 big warning sign is if they have runny poo. If they do u really need to take to a vet. FAST! I feed mine until they slow down eating the crickets which is about 25ish then I give them a good bowl of different veggies, and by morning the veggies have be picked through. and repeat

thanks to the both of you:) i actually did feed her veggies in the morning yesterday and it looked like some of it was eaten when i got home from work. although it was hard to tell because she did some "redecorating" in her tank and her bowl was moved about and upset. she seemed very hungry though and ate about 41 crickets and 3 roaches!!!! her poo seems to be ok, she goes anywhere from 1-2 times a day. i wouldnt say it is runny, but i think a trip to the vet is a good idea anyway.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
