Fish Geek future herp convert?

Hey Guys!

I am a fish geek and run a fish forum but I have wanted a bearded dragon for a lone time and finally got to convince the wife to let me get one. I use to have 10 tanks up but down to 3 and soon to be 1 thanks to these great economic times I am 1/2 though my enclosure and hopefully soon I can get it wrapped up and put it to use!

Ive been giving my tanks away to friends/family and I was going to use a 60g but I decided to enclose in the area I was going to put the 60g under my 126g 6' and build an enclosure. Last night I broke down an old 20g long n tall tank giving me 2x 30x16 pieces of glass I plan to use for sliding doors in the front. The leftover glass will be converted into a little betta tank for my son.

I have decided on my lights and now I need to whats the best setup for monitoring the temp? I want to get a gun eventually since it would be nice for the fish as well but till then are digital ones the way to go or those little cheap round ones?

wow. maybe tedious is a better word.

I plan on ATTEMPTING a build out of a previous existing "something" next summer.. if she can wait that long... might ahve to do it this usmmer.

Hi and welcome, I used to have a few fish tanks to. But i went over to the reptile side. Iam now the maid to a beared dragon . I used to have two beardies a iguana and 8 leapard geckos. Iam now down to just one bearded. Look out they are addicting. :lol: Pamela.

I will warn you, but you probably won't listen to me: stop while you can!!!! Herping is extremely addicting. I'm not saying I don't think it is the best hobby on earth, but it takes a lot of time, money, and space. And once you're in, you can't get out!! I've tried. After I considered adopting a pet snake, I couldn't think about anything else. After a year of research, I had my ball python. Then I told myself I would stop, but who was I fooling?

Anyways, reptiles are awesome! And beardies are such sweeties!! Have fun!
