First time shedding

My lil guy has just had his first shed. After purchasing him he was in shed already but it wasn't peeling away, today his body peeled off and all over his under side he has a few dark circles around, now i know sometimes the shed hides the colour but i also understand darker colour could mean it it stressed. Now my question is is he stressed because of his first shed or is it that he is naturally dark and the shed was hiding his true colours

Their colors change quite a bit, especially between dark and light. It can be a result of mood change or it can also just mean they're trying to absorb heat/light (darker) or reflect it (lighter). The belly lines are common with young dragons and I wouldn't worry about those much unless they are accompanied by lethargic behavior. Shedding can often stress them out and put them off of food for a bit, but they bounce back after the shed finishes. It's normal for that to happen. With the little guys, their sheds happen quite often.

Ok thank you, he puffed his bearded out for the first time today im hoping its because of what you said and him being stressed and nothing i did wrong

Sometimes they will puff their beard to stretch the skin. As long as it is not accompanied by a black beard he is fine I'm sure.

His beard wasnt full black but between the spikes i could see black but after 5 seconds of puffing he stopped

It sounds fine to me. I would not worry about it.

Sounds fine to me too. One morning Cooper bearded at a kale salad for about 20 minutes. He was just being grumpy that day though.

Haha my lil guys beard was similar to that aswell, good to know he was just feeling grumpy and i didnt do anything wrong
