Heyy so I've noticed these spots of "swollen?" scales popping up over the last week or two. Is this a precursor to shedding or is it a potentially dangerous problem? He's got plenty of UVB (1 32 watt compact and 1 18 inch bar on the other side, so his tank has full coverage 12 hours a day) and his temps are around 100 basking, 80 cool side. He's 1 year old.
There are also these darker patches by his vent and on his tail. They've been there as long as I've had him, but I figured I'd ask while I'm here.
Diet has been mustard greens, kale, raspberries, and 7-10 calcium dusted gut loaded superworms as per recommendation from my vet because when I got him he was a little skinny (220 grams at 16 inches) so she wanted to fatten him up a bit.
He's in a 40 gallon tank 3 hides available. Newspaper substrate.
He also just finished a parasite treatment about a week ago for Pin Worms and Coccidia. Seems to be eating better since. Hes happy and active, very friendly, he's bathed about 3 times a week and drinks heartily in the bath.
