My old vet - well, bless him, he was old, and retired.
My current vet normally only specialises in small mammals, however, he's only a couple of years older than I am, he's really brushed up on his beardie knowhow, has a specialist on call if he gets out of his depth and gets excited over every new opportunity I bring him.
I know I could pay the extra and ship my dragons out to the specialist every time - but I'm very happy to work with the new, young vet. He gets the opportunity to learn so much more about an unusual field and I get the opportunity to get what could be a truly great herp vet for many more years to come.
It's an odd situation, but a win-win one for me.
