I don't know if many of you have kept up with Ish's story. I feel like I wanted to put in an update, but feel bad for constantly doing it in the ER section. I mean if anyone is curious here is the original thread. viewtopic.php?f=45&t=207137
After a year long battle with respiratory issues and walking issues, Ish finally seems to be doing well. He hasn't gaped at all for about 4 months now. For some reason since May, his back legs haven't been stable at all. I bought a new light, increased his calcium, and took him outside almost everyday during the summer. Nothing seemed to work and every test we did pretty much came back negative except for the ultrasound which found fluid around his heart. That's also the reader's digest version of what happened.
He has been sleepy a lot lately and hasn't been doing walking around really since September. Recently I decided to just get away from the mercury vapor bulbs and switched to the reptisun 10.0. He's been basking on his own and he's been walking around for the last week. (I've had a smaller one for most of the summer but upgraded to a 48 inch when I saw how much better he liked the light) He even tried to climb out of his cage today.
It's hard watching him walk around because his beard is always black and he stumbles a lot but I'll take what I can get. I'll have to post some pictures at some point. We did recently get a blood test just to make sure that nothing could be going on and just to make sure everything is where it should be. If that comes back negative, I think that will just be something he has to live with. At this point he's doing well so I'm just going to go with it. He's such a goofball.
So if anyone wants a used Arcadia mercury vapor bulb I have a 100 watt that was used since May 2014, if anyone wants it let me know. I also have a 160 watt and an unopened 80 watt bulb which is open for grab or if someone knows of a reptile sanctuary that would appreciate them, I have no problem giving it to them along with the converter box that I purchased. PM me for details.
