Finally got bit today...

This morning, while Wolfgang was basking in the window. He didn't do it on purpose, but dang...It certainly didn't feel pleasant. I was hand-feeding him some greens and I guess I had my finger in the wrong spot, so he took it along with the food.

To add insult to injury, he sort of glared at me once I had pulled back and fully realized what had happened. It was like he was saying: "Keep your disgusting human meat out of my mouth!"

He didn't draw blood or make any kind of mark, and I wasn't at all angry, just surprised. I'm a little scared now...What's it going to feel like when he's actually angry at me? Or when he's an adult? Makes me nervous even though he hasn't even tried to bite me.

Priceless.

I got bit by my female once. She was freaking out cause she was outside. So I brought her in and was trying to calm her, petting her head, face as usual for me to do with her, then she bit my thumb. Same thing, it didn't draw blood but, it hurt quite a bit for some reason

lol. I guess they really do have teeth! Because I was starting to wonder xD

To be honest, being bitten by him reminded me of being bit by one of my cats.

I've been bitten a few times. Never had blood drawn so far, At least by my beardies. All they did was leave some shallow puncture wounds. Now my Leopard Gecko, He's bitten me many times and drawn blood every single time.

So what does being bitten by an adult feel like? Or is it different to individual beardies, like other animals? (My oldest female cat is a bit of a gentle biter, while my male is known to bite quite hard.)

In my experience, It has to do with the particular beardie. Some are soft biters and some are hardcore. My oldest female for instance, Before she passed. The last time I hand fed her some strawberry peices with her other veggies and I was letting her eat out of my hand and she got excited and CHOMPED down on my finger. There was another time I was getting major "Stink eyeage" cause I put the leash on her and she really didnt need it, But better to be safe then sorry. Anyway, I was getting major stink eye and I couldnt resist, So I took it off of her and she got really excited and went to bite the leash and yet again CHOMPED down on my finger.

Mine bit me when he was about 6 months old. I was hand feeding him some cherries, it didn't really hurt. Then, when he was about a year old, he bit me while I offered a cricket. He got the cricket and my ring finger; tasting cricket, he kept biting to crush the resistance (i.e., my finger). My finger bled a good bit and I was left with a bruise underneath my fingernail for a while. Felt like I'd pinched my finger in the middle of a folding sliding closet door.

Now that I've experienced the fury of his cricket bloodlust/berzerker mode, all hand feedings have been done with some Zoo-Med plastic tweezers.

Reminds me of Charlie, when i first rescued him he was VERY aggressive! He'd hiss and puff up but would never ever bite, it's like he never knew how to... Lol!
But now his the best beardie i could ever ask for :D
(I must say that i'm still quite scared of him  )

Spike has only bit when my kids pried open her mouth and poked around with a finger. Once there was blood.

I frequently feed her supers in the palm of my hand. I have been zotted by her tongue lots of times, but never bit. Also, I can't resist her gaping. I lay the side of my finger barely in her mouth, like a person eating corn on the cob. Then I say affectionately, "Come on, give me a bite." She just moves back and closes her mouth without biting. A few times she has let me gently move her head up and down with my finger just outside her teeth. After a few seconds I quit and apologize, explaining that the whole mouth / affection business is a disgusting mammal thing.

I've been bit several times. My first beardie, Izzie, snapped me on the finger once. Barely felt it, it was more of a warning than an actual bite. Bad slave was tickling his toes!

My second beardie was Herr Major von Putz, known as Putzy. He was a grumpy bugger who never really cared for cuddles. Bit me several times on my fingers while being handfed. They felt like I caught my finger in a door. One day, after his bath, I had him snuggled on my chest. Went to give him a kiss on the snout and ended up with a split lip. You think your beardie was disgusted? You should have seen the look of revulsion on his face. Worse than when I snuck some salad in his mouth.

My current beardie, Oscar, bit me once on the finger. Got me right on the base of the nail, and I bled a bit. That one felt worse because I jerked it out of his mouth and got what looked like a paper cut from one of his teeth.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
