Few questions about my baby beardie...

Red is about 8 weeks old, 13cm long, we've had him about a week now and he doesn't seem to be eating as much as Ive heard other people say their babys are eating... he has around 6-10 crickets a day and maybe a calciworm or two... doesnt seem to show much interest in his salad at the minute but that can be expected of a baby right? How much should a baby be eating at his age?

Also how old will he have to be before we can bath him properly? At the minute I sort of just rub some warm water over him for a minute or two until hes nice and moist .

I thought about maybe feeding him some baby food, but how do you do this exactly? Surely not just put it in a bowl in his viv?

Thanks for reading :)

Relocation stress can last for a few weeks, once is he totally at ease he will start to eat more. Its not uncommon for young dragons not to eat greens but keep offering. You can add some soft bodied worms like repti-worms or small butters to his greens to encourage him to take a bite.

Ah ok thanks, that didn't really cross my mind, my least beardie was all settled in after a few days. I've put some calciworms in for good measure :) any idea on the babyfood / bathing??

You can bath him now if you want, they are never too young. Keep the water shallow and don't let it get too cold. Babies seem to like to cling onto your hand while soaking so it might be easier to use a big bowl for bathing.

I wouldn't start any baby food, dragons can get so used to being fed by hand that its almost impossible for them to relearn eating on their own. It should only be used for truly ill dragons that are in danger of starving to death.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
