Few health questions about Spike

Hey you guys. So I have spike in his new 90 gallon tank. We have the bottom lined with a cool tunneling kit, and losing repti calcium sand, that he doesn't eat but loves to dig in.
My questions is, my basking spot is about 112degrees F, and i'm wondering if that is to hot for my 14 inch boy right now. I don't normally see him running to his cool side at all but it's normally at 90degrees F.
Is it to warm for him?

Also, is TV ok for them? I have noticed that Spike will watch some shows from the TV. He loves any other show with a dragon or something in it. But is the TV bad for him? I don't want to hurt him eyes at all. Its not like he can climb right up to the TV, so think it's ok?

Also, he seems really upset since we put a new screen door on his tank. Now his Kitty Girlfriend can't climb in to see him at night. But now I find he is really restless. He looks for her all the time. And often will hiss at me unless I have the cat near me... Should I give them time together out and about watched by my hubby and I? Callie (cat) always protects Spike from the other cats, and grooms him.

This is my first Bearded Dragon, and I want to make sure I am doing things right.

Also 2 sheds in a month, is that normal?

Calci-sand is BAD NEWS for a beardie, get rid of it and replace with dry screened play sand IF YOU INSIST on using sand as your substrate.

Never let a cat near your beardie at any time. And make sure the cat never has access to the room the lizard is in when you are not home - I've heard too many tragic stories of people coming home to find puss had gotten into the enclosure and killed or horribly maimed the resident lizard.
ie the teenage boy next door lost 3 of his colony of 4 Jacky Dragons when the family cat was left to fend for itself for the day inside the house and got into the enclosure where the Jacky Dragons were housed.

TV is perfectly OK, Puff was a TV junkie (often awake way past lights out watching action movies and nature documentaries, had is favs and as soon as they ended he retire).
Wriggles my water skink is also an avid TV junkie and is usually wide awake and watching the TV late into the night. (1am and she is still awake and watching the TV, or maybe she's hanging out for her late night dad snuggle before I go to bed.)

The lose sand is make for beardies, I don't know if its sold around you guys, but it's really the best option for him, Since I tried him with other lose "safe" substrate and he got impacted. He has had this stuff for over a month. and he is actually doing a lot better with the new sand. The vet told me to buy it.

As for the cat, I have a great welding screen top that no animal can get through. Even my 3 year old has sat on the top and nothing. No breaking or anything. But we NEVER let Callie and Spike be alone at anytime. All visits are watched. We are never more then 30 inches away from Callie and Spike. Plus Callie chases off all the other cats, and will protect him. Spike will lay on her tummy and sleep with her during the day. I don't think I have to worry about Callie. Now the other cats we have, I do not trust around spike at all. Since they seem to want to eat him.

Even though Callie and Spike do get along, we made sure that Spike was always going to be safe. Even when we are out of the house.

Hi there.....it sounds like Spike has a great big palace to play in, he'll get lots of exercise then. :) Do you have any pics ? Some cats do seem to get along with beardies but always keep in mind that even cats that love other cats/dogs + us humans will sometimes get that crazy phase where they give a strong " love bite " or grab + scratch. And the calci sand is well known to cause impaction....it turns to cement/sludge like substance in the stomach if enough of it is eaten. But some dragons never do, so it is a personal choice....just be aware that it can definitely be harmful.
The temps. are a bit too high thru the tank....your cool side should be no more than 80, basking spot about 105. It's obvious that you're interested in providing the best care + happy home for him, hopefully your dragon will live a long + happy life !

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
