Females together

I wanted to get everyone's experienced opinions on putting two females together. I've read on several different websites (and I think I also saw it on this one) that it is usually ok to put two females together because they normally aren't aggressive toward each other. I've read that sometimes it doesn't work and even two females can show aggression. So I'm guessing that you would just need to be careful and watch them. What do all of you think regarding this? Have any of you tried this and has it worked for you? I ask because we only have one tank (55 gallon) and we have two female's. They are together right now and have been together for about 3 months and I haven't seen them do anything at all that was aggressive. Both of them are about 5 months old. One is 12 inches in length and the other is 13 inches. They don't puff their beards at each other or bob their heads rapidly or exhibit any other aggressive behavior other than one of them occasionally laying on top of one another; they do this back and forth to each other but not all of the time. I'd say the majority of the time they lay under the basking light separately and just ignore each other. They are both great little dragons and like to be held. I love them both! I'll probably look into getting them a larger enclosure within the next year or two. We plan on moving to a larger house sometime within that time frame so we'll have more space for a larger vivarium then. Well, let me know what you all think! I look forward to some advice :)

From what I've seen and read, people have more success housing two females together. It all depends on their personalities though. Females can become aggressive as well but not always. I'd observe them carefully and go from there. I do suggest a larger setup though. A 55g enclosure is about minimum for one adult dragon. If you decide to keep them together, I'd definitely look into providing them with more space. In the smaller tank, the basking site size is limited as are hides and climbing areas. You'll want to ensure that each of them has plenty of space to bask in order for both of them to get proper heat and UVB. A large homemade tank may be the way to go. Something you can outfit with multiple basking zones so they can each have their own area and aren't as likely to start competing for resources.

I would say save up for another enclosure and separate them when you can afford to do it. Females are the best combination out of the possible combinations, but it's still taking a chance. Things can go downhill very quickly, and it only takes a couple seconds for one female to get aggressive with the other for serious injuries to happen. I had an acquaintance who was keeping two juvenile females together in the same tank and I told him it wasn't the best idea. He didn't listen to me until once when I was looking at them, telling him again that he should probably split them up (he had the tank space, he just didn't want to do it) and he was telling me that they always get along, when one started puffing out at the other and suddenly lunged for her and luckily missed. They were then separated right away, but if we hadn't been there, seen it, and split them up at the first lunge and the attack continued one of them could have been seriously injured.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
