Yes, she is probably very uneasy and stressed by being in full view of him. I would suggest either covering at least one of the tanks or moving one to a different spot where they can't see each other.

Also would be a good idea to double check the temps. What type of thermometer are you using and what are the temps running?

Is the Zoo Med thermometer a round gauge (dial) type, digital strip or is it a digital with a long wire & probe end?

So, you're using a 160 watt PowerSun mercury vapor bulb in the 40 gallon talk or did you mean that you are using TWO 160 watt MVB's in the 40 gallon tank?

Is the Zoo Med thermometer a round gauge (dial) type, digital strip or is it a digital with a long wire & probe end? Are you using only one 160 watt bulb in the dome or do you have another bulb i the 2nd dome? What is the distance of the 160 watt mercury vapor bulb while she is in her basking spot?

She is still better off in her own tank. How long did you have them together? Were there any issues? Could she have gotten hurt?

Could you post a picture of her in her tank so we can see how it is set up?

That's a shame that he bit her like that. Any idea how old they are?

If she's walking on her wrist(s), it does sound like MBD. Is the 160 watt bulb just a heat bulb or is it a mercury vapor bulb that supplies heat AND UVB?

Here's my email: [email protected]

Were you able to cover at least one of the tanks so they can't see each other? Since he bit her like that, she probably feels threatened by him.

Thanks for emailing the pictures. So you're thinking that she is 2 yrs and he is 3 yrs or did you mean months?

I'm posting one of the pictures you sent me.

In order for them to both do well, you need to make some changes right away. The way she was laying in the water bowl, it looks like she has at least the beginnings of metabolic bone disease and that is why she isn't walking much. You had said that you had the coil UVB before but have replaced it with the Repti-Sun 10.0 COMPACT bulb, those are not good bulbs either. You need to get the Repti-SUN 10.0 strip fluorescent tubes right away because she is only going to get worse and soon he will start having symptoms of MBD also. :(

How long have you had both of them?

You also need to invest in a good thermometer. If you have a Walmart, Lowe's or Home Depot near you, you can get the AcuRite brand digital probe which will give you the basking & cool side temps at the same time as well as the humidity level and it only costs about $12.00. Here's a link that will show you what it looks like: http://www.amazon.com/Chaney-Instruments-Acu-Rite-Thermometer-Humidity/dp/B001BO8CUE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402172100&sr=8-2&keywords=chaney+probe+thermometer Temperatures are also very important and without a good way to read them, it affects their total health which causes loss of appetite, lethargy, and improper digestion as well as impaction. So, they won't continue to grow the way they need to when the temps are off.

It's also important that you feed them healthier greens/veggies. They also need their crickets dusted with calcium with D3 for 5 days a wk on 1 feeding a day and dusted with vitamins the other 2 days a wk.

Unfortunately, if you don't make these necessary changes, their health will suffer which will mean it will shorten their lifespan. Once you get their tanks all squared away correctly with the necessary lighting and temps, only then will you start to see improvements in them. They are dependent on you for their care so please listen to what we are trying to help you with and do your part.

Theres multiple things going on with her she sometimes just does not want to bask on her rock which the uvb is there and her back legs like she is compacted but i never feed her meal worms since i got her a little over a month ago she was only feed 2her days 6u mealworms i could not get my hand on crickets at the time i took her a bath today she dinally went but i been noticing her back legs are neing wierd she atill hunted her crickets i dusted with d3 my boy does not get d3 since he is not sick but veggies im going tommorow i got a list im going to get on the link u sent me. Im just starting to loose hope thats not going to make me stop trying but im not seeing a change i know it will take time but i wanna feel like what im providing and doing are helping her cause she is a nice dragon she is so small to him there like 2i weeks apart and he is twice the size. Had both for close to 2 and half month's

We can tell that you care about both of them BUT it is imperative that you make the suggested changes.

Since you're using a compact UVB, she is probably not wanting to bask because she can feel the rays from the compact bulb and wants to stay away from that bad bulb. Also, since you have a dial thermometer, more than likely the basking surface temp is not what she likes either. When the temps are off, it will not allow for proper digestion which can cause impaction.

Unfortunately, you more than likely won't see any change UNTIL YOU make changes in their setups. Even though the male looks healthy, he still needs his feeders dusted with D3 because the UVB and calcium work together to synthesize the right amount of calcium in their bodies. One won't work without the other. So, he needs his feeders dusted too.

Just so you know, females tend to be smaller than males in head size and even body structure. Not all beardies grow at the same rate. She will grow faster though if the temps are accurate & she has the Repti-Sun 10.0 strip fluorescent bulb.

Did you say you thought they were 2 and 3 YEARS old?

Good that you're gonna get some better greens/veggies. Let us know what you find.

Would it be possible to use punctuation between your sentences? It would help make it easier to read.

Theres good a bad in this im going to have to get both new light fictures now it came with the tank 170$ for each tank the bulb is not the one with a twirl i heard those are bad i have the one that is like a tube going stight down not the long one your talking about my girl got them all the veggies today the squash and kale my boy and girl are not like them he is really aggersive towards her i love his energy i dont think anything will go wrong with him he is really stiving now im going to feed him better veggies he eats zero meal worm both. Today she has been hiding under her basking rock i have a feeling she might broke a bone i use to have a dragon in the tank and she would jump off her back legs when i put her down they like go stight and looks very uncomfortable. Looking i took a look at her spine and there a slight curve no bumps but i been watching vids and i do notice 2 little little it could just be the scales at the beginning of her tail on both right left side she sleeps like how my boy use to against the wall so i guess thats a sign of strength in her back legs if he is keeping herself up my dragons are 3 half months old from what ppl are telling me she might have bad genetics or a sick dragon but she is mine and it dont matter i have to make her better. I want her to grow so bad its been a while.

This is a Repti-Sun 10.0 compact bulb, this is the one you have, correct?

Yes, you will need to get the Repti-Sun 10.0 strip fluorescent tubes for both tanks as well as the fixtures as the compacts are not good either & won't prevent metabolic bone disease which is developing on your female already.

You mentioned that he is aggressive toward her, they aren't together at all, are they? He already bit her once, sure don't want that to happen again. She may very well have a broken bone and/or spine damage from improper UVB.

Good that you picked up some squash & kale, would also be a good idea to pick up some of the greens that are in green print here: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

How is her cricket appetite and are you dusting the crickets for both beardies now?

Any idea when you can get a digital probe thermometer and the UVB lights we recommended to help them both out?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
