Female beardie caged alone laid eggs!

Hey I just wanted to double check that this was normal. My 16 month bearded dragon laid about 12 yellowish eggs. She has never been near another bearded dragon. Should I do anything for her? Does she need any special care at this time?

A nice warm bath and lots of food, probably a little extra calcium wouldn't hurt either. Did you not notice her getting bigger?? This is killin me!!! LOL!! I know mine is getting bigger, paid attention, made her a lay box, she dug her tunnel, over 2 months now and no eggs...then someone just ups and has eggs from their bearded dragon without ever even knowing she was gravid!UGGGGG!!
Anyway, yes they can lay infertile eggs!! Some lay more than one clutch, so watch her.
Seriously, had you made a lay box for her or anything? There is a thread in the breeding section about them laying eggs, it will help you out.

I had one lady walk into my PetSmart the other day with aquatic turtle eggs. She was so freaked out because she only had one turtle and she was 8 years old. :lol:

Does this happen often with female bearded dragons?

Yes, it is quite common. Some don't lay infertile eggs, but alot do.
