So Charizard is living with me now, mom wanted to get to know him. Which is cool.

However, got a new UV, since i didnt take one from Ace. I got a Zilla Sublime fixture, light included. I was prepared to buy the PROPER bulb, aka reptisun 10.0. I should have got that bulb from the get-go to replace the one that came with the fixture, because my poor baby will not open his eyes.

I turned off the light as soon as i saw that he was getting squinty and trying to hide, and now he wont open them, but a teeny bit to look at me. I know bad uv's can cause eye irritants, but i didnt think that he would still be squinty the next day. (yea, got the light on Monday, around 5-6 i had it turned on. Tuesday afternoon around 2-3 i turned it off)

Is he going to be ok in a few days? Or did i burn his poor retinas

He should be ok in a few days, just keep the uvb off and get a proper bulb as soon as possible. I'd take the zilla back and demand a refund.

bought it off petmountain, mostly for the fixture and not the light as i know reptisun is the best. we have another one, same brand on our girls and had no problems. but it was bought months ago like 3-4

i'll email them though, but i need the fixture for the new light

I got a fixture for a regular fluorescent bulb at walmart for 12 bucks or so. Get one for under-cabinet lighting. Then just switch to the reptisun bulb.

ok, if petmountain asks for it back i'll give it back. I doubt the fixture itself is bad, but the light obviously is. Hopefully he'll get better soon, i'm not at home to check up on him, but my mom is :/
