feeding

I am a new dad to a three month old beardie about 6.5 inches long. i feed it cabbage that i cut up fresh every morning as well as some broccoli and the occaisional fruit. I was wondering if apples, strawberries, and bananas are okay. I really love my little one and want to feed him right. Please advise!

You need some protein in that diet! Small crickets, phoenix worms, silkworms, etc would be a good start. Avoid meal worms!

Lots of great info on feeders in this site. Read up on the caresheets regarding substrate, MVB, and other valuable info on raising a healthy happy beardie!

would I be able to give my beardie fruits and veggies ONLY and no bugs or anything like that? im a kid so my mom wont let me feed them crickets but i dont kno if my mom will even LET me get a bearded dragon. hopefully at my b-day which is a pretty long way away.PS PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION :mrgreen:

sorry to say, but no, you need to feed live food. But there are other types of live feeders that don't jump & make noise or smell. Read some more and ask all the questions you can, you'll get alot of good info here.
