Feeding

I have not purchased my baby just yet I am wanting to make sure I can take care of this pretty girl. I have read in several places that beardies should be feed 3 times a day. My question is I work about a 11 hours a day 5 days a week and then 6 hours on every other Saturday. If I leave extra food in her bowl will it be safe to feed her in the morning and then again once I get home. The one I have been wanting is in the picture below.

I'm not sure how my cell phone camera did this shot but it is the best pic I have of her.

Young ones (under 12-18mo) need mainly bugs (80% or so of the diet) and need to be fed more often than adults. That said, you can set a schedule that works with your work schedule. I would advise offering bugs for 10-15 minutes each morning (remove all leftovers - feeding in small batches of 5 or so at a time makes this easier because you can track them). Then leave a nice salad with 2-3 items from this list in the tank during the day. http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html Then when you get home, offer another meal for 10-15 minutes at least an hour or two before lights out (setting the lights on a timer is a huge help). You can also leave a small bowl of Phoenix Worms on the cool side of the tank if you wish, but 2 full meals and a salad available all day should be sufficient I would think. Please let me know if this helps.

As long as you set somewhat of a routine, it's OK for it to mirror your daily routine. Relative consistency is the more important thing. Please let me know if you have any questions about your setup/lighting/etc and I'll be glad to help.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
