Feeding Beardie as a favor when usual parent is away

Hello,

My boyfriend and I have a beardie (on a side not he goes to the vet twice a year and is in great health!). We do not live together anymore, I live about an eight minute walk away, and our beardie lives with him. My boyfriend is away for the week and I am watching Yoshi (I know SUCH an original name, now I know him, it should have been Bowser!) in his absence. The normal routine is to turn on his lights (and before anyone comments on this, by lights I mean actual lights and uv stuff, etc.) in the early a.m., feed him spring mix/mango in the late a.m./early afternoon, feed him cricks in the evening, and then shut off his lights at least two hours after he eats his cricks as we are under the impression he needs at least two hours with his lights on to properly digest. Can anyone come up with another healthy way to look after him for the week without having to go there four times daily? Obviously, I will do the four times a day thing if absolutely necessary, but any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'm curious to get a response, too! We are leaving our baby home for a weekend coming up and have a close friend coming to take care of him. This will be our first time leaving him...I'm glad you posted this :)

hook his lights up to a timer, a little pricey at the pet store, if you can't order online in time, but well worth it!! Then get some live feeders that can be put in a bowl and left in the tank all day, such as dubia roaches, superworms or phoenix worms, and put those in the tank in the morning along with his salad.

I kind of do this on days I work. I work 4 or 3 12 hour shifts a week. I have the lights on a timer to come on at 6 am, and go off at 8 pm daily even when I am off of work. I have feeding set up to be about 7:30 am when I get home, then bath time at 3ish when I wake up. Then i put a bowl of phoenix worms in about 5 pm to let her have at them. I usually leave for work between 5:30 and 6 so can't sit and watch her every day.

But as other users have suggested, put a bowl in with feeders that can't crawl out in the morning, then you'd only have to worry about going over to turn the lights off until you get a timer.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
