Feeding an adult

I have an adult female beardie named Mushu. I have a decent amount of knowledge of keeping her happy, but I had some questions about feeding.

She of course gets a salad daily. But I have seen conflicting suggestions as for feeding insects.

Right now she's been getting crickets daily (6-10), but it never seems enough. (You know that beardie appetite...)

I have also read that they can get fed crickets every other day as well.

She has been pooping regularly, and everything looks good, so I can only assume I'm doing something right.

I guess I'm just looking for suggestions from other owners as to how often and how many crickets to feed...

(I'd love to switch to roaches, but can't find a local source right now)

Thanks for any input. :)

My bearded dragon is only 6 months old but my friend who has a 3 bearded dragons 1-2 years old feeds them crickets every other day but feeds them each around 30 or 40 it looks like.

Mine is doing the same thing, Puff is 2 years old and she had 6 crickets one day then 10 of them the next. I've also heard with adults you can give them crickets every other day, not sure if thats true. Trying to get my girl to get an appetite. Still learning on foods she can/can't have. :study:

The adult beardie's diet should consist of 80% greens/veggies and 20% protein/feeders. 30-50 live feeders a week is sufficient for an adult. Crickets can be at the higher end of those numbers due to their fat content.... with worms being at the lower numbers. Worms have alot more fat and adults should not have too much fat, which can lead to fatty liver disease.
Some adults prefer to eat their feeders everyday, while others will eat them every other day or two. My oldest beardie(7) will only eat every few days. So I just divvy up the worms accordingly.

Thanks Dawn! You really helped answer my question! I knew the approximate percentages but didn't know about how much a day should be given for live feeders. So apparently I'm right on track with what I've been giving her, which is a load off my mind. :)

I give her about 6 a day, I think if I switched to everyother day, she'd be a little upset. haha she has a very good appetite!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
