Hey I have been trying very hard at keeping my Dubai Roaches in one place when it comes to leaving them in my Dragons Den (vivarium)

I have tried various containers, ceramic, glass, plastic but they always seem to escape. Although the containers I have used stood a max of 2" high I didn't want a too deep of a feeder dish as Loki my dragon won't be able to see in or reach the Dubai. So with some web searches I have come across the Komodo Smart Dish i was wondering if anyone has seen or used this? Any how I ordered one off eBay and will give it a try and post on here if it's any good.
Here's a link to a picture of one to show you guys what I'm on about. http://www.roachcolony.com/komodo-smart-dish-59-p.asp :)

So i got my feeder dish today and have tried it out and... it don't work :banghead:
It works with the smaller Dubai Roaches but no good for large or adult Dubai Roaches, so its back to the drawing board.

If anyone out there has managed to contain adult Dubia Roaches to a feeder dish please let me know lol

i just let them loose in the tank, gives Fred time to hunt and reduces the chances of him eating too quickly... i love watching him hunt though so i dont think id ever contain the roaches, crickets and worms on the otherhand...

I did that at first but they seem to hide under every thing and only come out when lights are off.

I use a ziploc sandwich sized container, the only problem is they will crawl up my dragon
I will also give this a try see if I can get a deeper one than the dishes I have used. Thanks :)

I bought a cat food dish, only like 2 dollars and I have stopped finding them in tank and I have even switched to a bit larger roaches and they don't climb it. Hope this helps

I bought a 100ml bottle of it (a lot cheaper than £30) several years ago, a little of it goes a VERY LONG WAY and it keeps ages in a sealed bottle.

I also us it to keep tiny house ants, baby roaches and spiders from invading my lizard rearing tubs via the ventilation holes , the salad I put in each day is very attractive to these insects and I don't want them colonising my lizard tubs or enclosures.
People use it a lot here to make their tubs where they breed roaches and cricket excape proof.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
