Fed Ex screwed up?

So this girl was supposed to show up today on my doorstep

but fedex some how screwed up.. I'll let the tracking speak for itself

Not with a beardie ups crewed up on my crickets. They arived a week late. Hopefully you get her safe and healthy.

thats why you should never have a shipper ship out on a weekend. Monday-wednesday are the safest as if there is an issue you can get it rectified asap and have your dragon asap. in this case you are stuck till monday. Good lulck i hope your dragon is ok.

I've never dealt with an issue like this from a shipping company, i figured overnight meant overnight, end of story.

I saw returned to shipper, so i figured yea it sucks, I wont have it until at least tuesday but at least she will be okay, but after being "out for delivery" it shows up in memphis TN.

Will they deliver on a sunday if something like this happens? I should probably call and talk to them on the phone.

No they will not deliver on Sunday. That is the danger with trying weekend shipping and why 95% of breeders will either not do it or void their live arrival guarantee if the buyer chooses to use it.

I ordered it from a very reputable breeder(from what ive seen on these forums) and they never said anything about a friday shipping, you act like this is common knowledge to people, it isn't.

If anything should happen to the beardie Fed Ex should be held responsible anyways, it was marked as a live animal and was shipped by guaranteed overnight delivery.


So usually in a situation like this the beardie will show up monday?

I don't know anything about the shipping but I wanted to say I'm sorry for the stress you're going through and I really hope she arrives to you safely. She's a gorgeous girl. Let us know what happens, I would be on the phone with FedEx ASAP....and talking to the breeder!

Its common knowledge to reptile shippers and the breeder should have discussed weekend shipping with you. In this case its as much the breeders fault as it is the shipping company.

She should be ok as long as she isn't in any extreme temps though she will be stressed and probably dehydrated. I hope she arrives safely, keep us updated.

Oh man, how scary! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she makes her return to the breeder or to you safely. My stomach would be in knots! I would definitely be in contact with the breeder AND FedX. Accidents do happen, but extra precautions should've been taken considering the box was labeled live animal. Please keep us updated. I'm sorry for the stress... sending some good luck vibes your way!

I just spoke to Fed Ex and got a real jerk off on the phone :banghead:

He said the reason it was returned is because it was a live animal. He said it usually take 2-3 business days to return a package to the sender.

I asked if the weather in memphis has anything to do with the delays and he said yes there are problems with the weather in memphis but the reason its being returned is because it is a live animal.

I told them that it was clearly marked as a live animal and there is even a picture included with the package when it was shipped. His response to me was live animals cannot be shipped and they will not be held responsible for it and hung up on me.

So now I feel even worse about it.. 2-3 business days?! I hope that is not the case :(

that is deffinately not true this employee is mistaken. I am a certified fedex reptile shipper. Live animals are allowed if the shipping account is certified to ship them. You need to contact the breeder and have him contact fedex. as the account holder it is his responsibility to fix this. And i was not being rude or snippy with you dont know why you took it that way. In the reptile breeder community it is common knowledge that you should never ship on or after thursday due to possible shipping complications and the package being held, just as breeders tend to not ship in temps under 35 degrees. Its just not safe practices. That breeder needs to contact fedex and get this sorted.

Thats what I thought and I think thats why he hung up on me. He was talking out of his ass I think he may have been dealing with a lot of upset customers because of the severe weather in memphis and a lot of packages being delayed/not being delivered on time.

I wasn't rude with him in any way and he just had a bad attitude since he got on the phone. I will call the breeder and hopefully they can have more success dealing with them then I did. I'm fairly certain they would be certified reptile shippers also.

well just looking at the picture, anyone can tell that you purchased him/her from bloodbank. Bloodbank has shipped out lots and lots and lots of dragons in the past so im not sure why fedex would not recognize them as a certified live animal shipper. Must have been a mixup somewhere.

Im sure once you contact Bloodbank (which you should have done the moment you seen the package was diverted) they will hopefully get everything straightened out.

I have had a dragon get delayed by a day in 40 degree weather and he arrived with no problems at all. But I would definitely call bloodbank and tell them what is going on.

Yes, I sent them an e-mail at 4 when I started to worry about the shipping(it was supposed to show up by 12), and at the time there were no updates on the tracking site, but I think their PC may be having problems again, I also tried calling but they may be busy. I'm sure they will be in contact soon.

Sorry to hear about that, hopefully everything will get sorted out and your beautiful dragon will come very soon!
on a side note... I'm currently attacking UPS for delivering a package to my door and not ringing the doorbell or knocking... so its not just Fed Ex that seems to be botching things lately.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
