fecal testing

my beardie pooped on saturday at 2 pm and the vet won't be in to test it until monday morning. the lady at the vet's office said i should just refrigerate it and it will be fine for that long. (syd doesn't poop very often at all.) do you think that she knows what she is talking about? will it still be okay for testing after about 40 hours in the fridge? thanks

My vet has told me that it needs to be no older 24 hours to be tested.

I've always been told to have it within 24 hours, as well.
