Hello,
I adopted a beardie, assumed male.
He is about 1 yr old.
10 inches long.
UVB light, 95'degrees at bottom of vivarium.
Basking hammock 4 inches to 9 inches from light.
Screen vivarium, 2 feet tall, 1 feet deep, and 4 feet long.
Reptile carpet.
Eats mixed greens (Kale, romaine lettuce, spinach, swiss chard, brocolli, aspargus) & Fruits (apple, grape, peach) All diced into bite size pieces... different mixtures on different days.
Eat crickets daily Normal:6-10 per feeding * Random weekly dustings with "Exo Terra Calcium + D3*
Treats: Meal worms once in a while Normal:3 per feeding
Beginning of symptoms;
Stopped eating veggies, then stopped eating crickets. Continued to poop. Poop became runnier and runnier. Then blood began to show in specs in the fecals. (Began daily warm baths with light stomach stroking). Still passing fecal matter in water.*White and runny*
Completely stopped eating anything, but still poops? So I went and got *Nature Zone; Worm Guard. Controls internal worms & parasites*
He lapted this up the first day, two whole teaspoons!! Then he wouldnt the next day. I didnt want to force him as this has cumin and other spices I didnt want to burn his skin with it spilling everywhere!...
After this he has a huge *disgusting sounding* poop of lightbrown/yellow mucus with blood again!
I cant see worms in his poop! My problem is.. the vet is $85 for the visit and fecal testing is $100 because we dont have any local retile vets... not including any meds... So I am trying to help him on my own with some home remedies.
Does this sound familiar?
Any suggestions?
Is there any recipes for liquid diets for Beardies?
Thanks, Sarah
