falcor & tolkien's fun fotos thread *new pics pg 14*

so, falcor is my first beardie. she has been doing this spring fever thing for close to a month now...driving me nuts! she eats barely anything and just wants to stare out the window and run around the house and try to climb walls!!! she eats next to nothing, only the occasional roach (1-3 per week!) absolutely wont go near her veggies (she used to LOVE her salads??!!!) and only eats baby food mixed with critical care!!!! last month she weighed in at 470 grams, now she's down to 461...hopefully she doesn't drop much more weight. i've tried everything, superworms, hornworms, waxworms, butterworms, silkworms, NUTTIN! she looks at me like im crazy...which i possibly am!!!!! so, in my insanity, i made a comic strip to make myself feel better. plus, i'ver heard & seen people here like comic strips!!! so here ya go!

I had fun making that!!!

but, seriously, that is ALL she does....stares and stares hours upon hours out the window...!!!!! LOL

i will return with more comics!

do they ever return to their normal selves? or is it endless craziness here on out?

so i wake up this morning and this is whats outside....lol

i love the view, and i love those little lamp posts we have outside...i'm waiting for mr. tumnus to come visit me one day outside.... :wink: the minnesota winter has arrived! i'm just glad this happened on a saturday, and not during the work-commute week!

falcor's first snowfall, at least the first snowfall she's seen, she was just a wee-baby last winter...and she was not impressed to say the least...lol (notice the dark unhappy colors lol)

she was so not happy it was funny, but not funny for her!!! i had to make a comic.....

noooooooooooooooo!!! not snow yet!!! i feel the same way as falcor ;-) at least we don't have any yet, but it really is only a matter of time. also, chronicles of narnia was the first thing i thought of when i saw that first picture as well ;-)

Awwwwwwwww poor Falcor, surrounded by so much calcium........cute! What part of Mn. are you in? I lived in Owatonna for 5 years, way back when? I remember the wind/winter being bone cold, and it snowed a ton on my son's birthday one year, MAY 1st! :shock:

hi aaron, ah, i see you're in michigan, a fellow mid-westerner! yep, you'll have snow soon too. i think of narnia everytime i see those posts....maybe i'll find a magic wardrobe someplace one day, i'd have to bring the kitties and falcor with me though....

texas huh, yeah i bet thats a great place for beardies to be! comfy weather all year round for the most part, how cold does it ever get there?

hi christine! i live in brooklyn park, mn. just a few minutes away from minnepolis/st. paul. yep, i've heard about snow in may here, although i havent experienced THAT yet, and hope i don't!!!! lol

right now the lowest its been is the 50s it will get cold around easter and v-day its only snowed once on chrstmas last year but summer is the best in the 100 he can just bask in the window seal with perfect temps and full uvb

So lucky! What I would give to see that much snow around here...the most we get is a few inches each year, then rain.

Eeep! The dreaded avalanche of calcium dust!
Only a matter of time before that hits us... sigh, then I'll have to start walking to school instead of biking, and that takes 3 times as long. Plus I'll have to start getting up even earlier.

What you said about Falcor's being soo unimpressed with snow reminds us of our first two girls. My husband showed Miss O snow one time, he said she was not impressed. I guess it had something to do with the cold.

well guys, i think its officially here, brumation that is! falcor wakes up about every 2 days and noses around her cage, comes out to play for a bit, has a nice long drink of water, then its off to sleep for another 2-3 days. i think she's waaaaaay too nosey to go into a deep brumation! lol

i'm so glad i read the brumation article here (like 5 times now, i love it, it's such a good article!) i knew that she eventually would, she has slowed way down with her eating ignoring every tastey bug i put in front of her! can't wait till spring, for the crazy hyperness to begin, it's so fun watching her run around, i miss my active little girl already!!! at least when she wakes up i get to see her for a bit and have some beardie snuggles with her! :love5:

Yep, the brumation bug has hit my house too, calcium dust storms too! Falcor looks adorable in her blankie by the window! You're lucky that she wakes up every few days, Belle and Fiona don't, I have to wake them up for baths

gypsy isn't bruminating i think.i do walk in and see her with her eyes closed under the lamp...and she loves burrowing under her log arch now.but she's been mostly pretty active and good...loooving her greens!^-^doesn't want superworms anymore for a while but that's okay.she's still a fat little girl.

i have a 'little' secret i've been keeping from you guys, i will post about it later, probably in the new year cause i'm just insane busy at the moment...so don't get upset with me, i'll let you guys think on what it is....
