Fake Wall Questions

Hi.... I am wanting to make a fake rock wall etc for my beardie.
Anyone here in Aussie made one so i know of what brands to use. I know what i have to use but unsure as to what brands r safe??
Is this what i need....... Grout Mix,Cement Color,Expanding Foam, Water Based Polycrylic Satin Sealer??
Has anyone here in Aus made one of there own n if so could they tell me what products they used.

lol im in echuca too!

anyway im just going to buy some big styrofaom bricks cut the shape i want out and grout it.

i guess you could use any kind of grout as long as it dries? im not sure i had a post up but no ones replied yet so i have no idea

Hi Venom.......... Do ure kids go to East School???? Do u find it hard to get the RIGHT lighting and things for ure reptiles?. Since i joined the website n found out the right things i should b using for my beardie i realize the pet shops here need to do some research on there products. We are quite friendly with the ppl that own one of the petshops and i know they really look after there pets but when it comes to the things they sell they dont get it quite right.Wish someone would open up a reptile shop with all the right things lol.
Ill just have to go to the hardware shop and take my list and see if they have items simular to the ones posted. I know everything has to be non toxic, wish Bunnings was here!!!!

i know exactly what you mean!!!!
if ur friendly with a pet shop, might it be Kathy and dean or is it pet stock?

i found a repti glo 8.00 at the petshop on hare st (kathy and dean) and the guys on here say thats not a bad one to use but the 10.00 is bad.

yes its almost impossible to find anything these guys use and its doing my head in.

i live behind the primary school that's across the road from the backpackers on 208

im 19 almost 20 i have no kids as of yet lol.

if all these guys use Styrofoam with no problems, i figure it should be okay, well that's what im gonna use anyway cuz you can cut the shape out that you want.

lol this is weird find somone from aus let alone from the same town as me!!!


i forgot to say my teacher said i should open a shop up here that's specific in reptiles, and let me tell you i really am thinking about it!!

Sorry lol, i thought u may have had kids that go to the east school as there seems to b a family that has snakes n dragons there that takes them to the school sometimes.
There is a few Aussies on this website, and its handy, as its nice to know the brands n things that we can use.

Yes it is Kathy and Dean i was talking about.... They r lovely ppl and the young boy that deals with the reptiles is nice too, he has obv done his homework. I just think maybe a little more research about the reptiles wouldnt hurt. Its like when i had Hermit Crabs i used to give Kathy info on them that she hadnt heard of before lol.

I have just changed my lighting for my beardy... another Aussie put me onto the NEC T-10 blacklight 20 watt that i got from Middys for $15. He informed me thats the lighting they use at our zoos. On a website they show u all the info on them, so im trying it out. SO i use that and just the normal household lights for heat.

Yes i have cut my polystrene to shape already but am going to have to go to Mitre 10 or a tile place to get all the other stuff to make my fake wall... wish we had Bunnings!!!!

Open a shop!!!!!! We need someone who knows more about reptiles n the things they need!!!

Ill let ya know what i find when i go shopping for products for this wall...
