fake rock/sand floor?

Hey what do you think of instead of using tiles (which my little guy seemed to hate when I put it in because it got no traction on it) using the fake rock wall method of polystyrene, grout and mod podge with some sand thrown into the podge before it dries to give it that gritty feel. the sand wont come up and be of concern , it will look nicer than ceramic tile and it will give better footing.

any thoughts??

Nope wouldn't work very well.

If your dragon poos on it, the moisture in the poo will turn the sealant cloudy, and over time it will get stained cloudy and look bad.

Really tiles are easier, none of mine really seem to have a problem with it.

Did you look at different kinds of tiles? I touched each and every one I considered buying to feel it's texture first, and I didn't even consider anything shiny at all because I knew it would be slippery. There's a lot of tiles that have a good rough feel to them, and usually work pretty good for traction.
