Fafnir the Beardie

I took this one when he was asleep. For some reason he likes to sleep with his nose up against something. i hope that it doesn't mean that it is too cold in his viv. temp at night is around 70-75ish. He's too cute. :mrgreen:

When I just got him from the pet store.

He was a little lethargic when i first got him but now, he is well active and eating good. He did have a coil bulb in the pet shop.. :shock: .. He is still stubborn when it comes to greens but he is still young. I was wondering if it is normal for a beardie to have a "belly button" spot? my first time and everything. I'm not sure of the age but he is about 5in long (snout to tail tip). :wink:

Daw!!!! He's so cute!!! How is he eating? Does he like to go to sleep on your neck? Babies do like to sleep in odd positions. My oldest one is 7 months and he does not want to go to sleep unless he is lying on my chest with his chin laid on my chin or my cheek. My other ones will go to sleep anywhere I lay them with a blanket over them. They are such funny little animals.
Danger: Beardies are like potato chips... you can't stop at just one!!!

He's eating fine about 20-25 crickets on average a day. give or take 4 crickets. My little sister is always spoiling him by putting a small silkie in there when she comes over. hope those phoenix worms come in soon. I want to give him a nice variety :mrgreen:. He loves to sleep anywhere he can put his nose up to. last night he was glass dancing when his lights when out, so my fiance' and i decided to pick him up. As soon as i brought him into the room he was frog-legged on my thumb with his nose in the crook of my palm. I felt bad when I put him back in his viv, he just did not want to let go of my thumb . But our room gets pretty cold so i placed him in his favorite corner.

my male turned his nose up at phoenix worms too.. if your salad dish is a bowl put a few in there.. what i did with fidget to introduce him to greens and worms and now he eats both.

Welcome! He's SO adorable, and I love the name. Yes, it is normal for beardies to have that belly button. I love to lift up Nimmy to my mouth and kiss the spot. It is so fun! I agree, beardies are like potato chips. I already want another one, but mom says no. So I have to wait three years till I go to college. Then I'll probably have to wait longer. Oh well, it is what it is. I still love Nim like crazy!

How funny! Our beardie's name is Fafnir, too! Did you get the name from the book The Dragon Of Lonely Island or from the Norse myth? Or another source?

@kameo37 i got it from the myth and he seemed to respond to it. when i said it he snuggled closer to my neck

thanx. Fafnir is sheddin i just realized. I got worried when he didnt eat as much. And when he started eye bulging i almost had a heart attack! My fiance was laughin @ me for bein so worried. He ate almost all of his worms today
