eye problems!

dunnie is starting to shed but making me worry.
He is eatting normal
Poops 2-3 times a day
baths daily
he is peeling in small bits and scratching all the time or rubbing against everything
His face is the most itchy looking because thats what he is rubbing

I noticed a few days ago his eyes are blinking alot, he has another set of eye lids and he is kinda rolling his eyes alot. His eyes kinda twitch but nothing else does. He is kinda lethargic but eatting normal. we moved him to a huge tank but he loves it and there is no signs of relocation stress...


dunnies stats:
tank size: 40 gallons
lights: zoo med daylight blue uva blub (150w) on desert side. jungle side sun glo uva (100w) and repti sun uvb 10.0 bulb.
calcium: daily
baths: daily plus when he swims and plays in the waterfall.
dunnies size: 6 inches
ground material: newspaper
food: crickets (about 20-30 a day) lettuce sprayed with MV and this week apples
temps: desert 105, jungle 80-95
humidity: 20


is it possible it is because he is shedding around his eyes? he shows no signs of MBD or paracites (we got him from a vet). should i just wait it out and see if it stops in the next week?
other than his eyes...he is healthy and happy.

Hi Kris,

If in fact Dunnie is shedding his head right now, then what you are talking about sounds like what we call eye bulging. It is something beardies due during a shed to loosen the skin around their eyes. There is nothing to worry about, it is quite normal.
