Exploring

Well, Meat Head has had her first few baths and is getting to love them. She even climbed up to my shoulder while I was sitting on the bathroom floor and tried to jump back into the tub. lol. Super beardie. She is more comfortable cruizing around the bathroom exploring. Now we are comfortable letting her do that, not too far for her to go.

When we had her up in our bedroom she only saw us in the morning and then in the evening. Her disposition was pretty grumpy and didn't want to be held. Now that we have her in the living room, she is MUCH happier and gets more interaction. She is getting more and more comfortable with us every day. :D

We had her out in the living room a couple times and same thing. She insists she go explore. Our concern is her getting lost or stuck somewhere. Under the couch, into the closet space where the furnace is ext. I would really love to not have to worry about that.

We really want her to be able to explore around the house and hang out with us. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

I read a lot about all of you whom are able to let your beardies explore and feel comfortable with it. All ideas are welcome. Thank You all, you have been an amazing help so far.

You have to beardie proof the room first. Check for anything they can get inside walls heating ducts under entertainment centers  Gah that took us a hour getting Zero out from under that. So far hes been the only one we have lost lost. Watch them at first then you learn all the places they like to go.

I have beardie-proofed my room a long time ago. I ripped up my carpet and put down wood flooring so it would not get dirty. All my furniture is easy to get under except for the piano. I did not think Odette could squeeze between the wall and the back of the piano but she did. I enticed her with a worm. So all I could do was wait for her to come out. After that, I made it to where she could not get back there. But it is fun to let them run around, maybe throw some bugs on the floor...lol.

Good ideas. The couch and love seat are easy for her to get in and out from under. Her stand for her viv is open in the back so i would have to block that so she cant get back there. Everything in the living room is ok other than that.

I'm scared that she will haul butt into the kitchen and get into the area where the gas furnace is and stuff. The door is up off the floor, nice big gap there. I guess i could use something to block off the kitchen? Then put the kitty in another room, still not sure how they would act together and dont want the cat to think that Meat Head is a chew toy.

I like the idea of putting some bugs on the floor, maybe a couple of wax worms.

Thank You
:)

Sjdnei showed my three standard poodles who is boss. He would run after them and they would get freaked out. But I don't let them be in the same room. Better safe than sorry.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
