So I was curious what people thought about this product?

It says that it's made of
Made with black, non-toxic polystyrene
but some cursory research on google says that it eventually melts after a long time in an enclosure?

Have any of you experienced this or know anything about it? Should I even worry? Would it make a difference if I were to cut 3" holes in it to line it up with some vents?

I wouldn't even put it inside the enclosure, its a pain trust me and takes up about an inch or two of space inside. If you want to get one just make sure you put it outside of the enclosure sitting along the back, much more easier and safer.
Crickets will eat at it, any feeder bug really will eat at it. Any bugs that can will get behind it and they will stay there most of the time and either climb out and try to escape if the enclosure has a screen top or come out during the night and attack your beardie while it sleeps when you think all insects are out of the enclosure.
Beardies will also climb it and if they're heavy enough will knock it over if not secure.

I have two backgrounds myself but I've never had them inside the tank other than for about a week or two before entirely ripping them out and sitting them behind the exo terra 40 gallon front opening tanks they came with.
I got fed up with the hassle of crickets and other bugs hiding behind it and eating away at the foam, along with escaping occasionally.
I assume they could probably melt eventually when theres a high wattage heat lamp over them.

I'll be passing on it then. Thanks

I took mine out as well. It takes up a lot of valuable depth. I replaced it with a photo background mounted to the outside of the glass.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
