Evee's weird neck & small update

Evee had her 6 week check-up for her jaw. The vet is very happy with how it's healing. She's now just on the penicillin every other day as there is still a nidus in the bone area. No more Gentamicin (YAY!). She is tolerating the betadine and canesten. My vet is still looking for an oral for her that isn't going to break me. She's a fighter! Oh and she has gained weight!!! Up from 239 to 280! She's very tiny...she was very malnourished and dehydrated when I got her.

She is doing so awesome, I can't even believe it. She's eating WAY more - to the point she's getting a ponch LOL! She's fighting more when I give her shots though - so it's awesome she has more 'oomph' but her energy is making it harder to treat her lol...I'll take it! I'm going to try to upload her last xray compared to her first one later. I meant to post it last time, but keep forgetting. She's pretty patient with the betadine treatment and the canesten. I need to message the vet again about an oral option. Been crazy the last while with kids back to school.

Always good to hear positive updates about her. Sounds like she's enjoying her life as much as she can despite having gone through such hard knocks.

It was her first time working on a beardie too!!! She researched it like crazy and consulted with a specialist (none in our area). She has her own rescued beardie so she knows lots about them and their needs ? She just got her DVM last year - young and very eager. She's great.

She's really lucky to have you and your keen as mustard vet working together to help her.
That vet sounds like is a definitely a keeper !!! Some vets are useless despite claiming they are specialists / expert herp vets.

Evee update - got the results for her fungal test back...well...

The test was negative BUT indicative of yellow fungus The exotics specialist told my vet that we should definitely treat her as though she has it. SO - oral anti-fungal it is. On the plus side - she is finally doing a FULL shed - tail and ALL! BUT I've had to help her with the shed as it's so thick she can't get it all off on her own (I only help where she obviously needs it). Her mouth is looking weird again - so we're also starting chlorhex for that. At least she's eating really well...except she won't eat veggies or fruits and I don't want to withhold insects until her health is finally tops. Holy frig my girlie is a fighter! I'll try to get a picture of her tomorrow so you can see how she's doing sorry I haven't been on much - life's been crazy (isn't it for everyone? :lol: ).

HUGE improvement!!! She looked pretty grumpy tonight but I would be too with the amount of shed she has. Her bowel movements are fantastic, best they have ever been. I am so glad I didn't give up on her!
