escapees and screens

well today i had an extremely close call, i walk in my bedroom, and my 2 month old dragon is out on the floor just sitting next to his tank actin like someone stole his house keys. so im thinking i need to start using a screen for him, only problem is the screen just blocks out way too much light, i mean you can visibly see it get darker in his tank when you put the screen on. any ideas?

Is it possible to have your light inside the tank? Or you could even just add a regular household bulb, if you use a low wattage then it should raise the temps in the viv....

Remove anything your baby can climb out on. You most likely have a plant or something he/she can get to the top with. Just remove or lower it. I have never used a lid on my three and never had one escape. They can still climb, just not up and over the tank.

Thats an easy enough thing to fix. You can do as suggested and remove anything the little one can climb out on or you can replace the screen with one less fine. It's simple enough to pick up a 1/4in to 1/2 in piece of mesh screen and make a lid out of it. This way the light will still get through and your little one can not get out.
