Errrr

So in my math class a topic about pets sprung up. I said I have two bearded dragons. Then this really irritating and mean girl said she has one too. She said it's this big (about five inches) and I asked how old it is and she said 5 months! I asked how much do u feed him and she said one large cricket every other day and... Lettuce. I told her a beardie under 6 months needs however many crix it can eat in 10-15 minutes 2-3x a day. And she reacted wide eyed. I told her that can equal to 50+ a day!!!! And again... a wide eyed reaction. I told her she is malnourishing it and I said that my adults get 25-35 crix a week each!!!!! She reacted by yelling at me. I said that her dragon will die very soon and that she was told to feed it like this by the people at the local petco who are "trained proffesionals" in her opinion. I said that it will die soon then she started yelling, the bell wrang and I was 10 seconds late to history and I got a detention. Ugh. At least I got two A+'s on my two first tests of the year.

Don't worry about that girl. Most people eventually need to look up something about thier beardie and turn to the internet, in turn finding this site and realizing all the things they've been doing wrong. You can't blame her for trusting the pet store, they are SUPPOSED to know what they're talking about. It is, after all, a PET store. If she doesn't want to take your advise, that's her and her beardie's loss. She will have to learn the hard way that you need to feed beardies much more than she currently is. You should be the bigger person and simply be nice. You will be graduating before you know it and will never see her again. Although I know there were "popular" girls who I had issues with in high school, I honestly couldn't tell you any of their names or the last time I've thought about them. Move on from it and be happy that you have healthy, happy beardies

Yeah. She's just gonna have a sad beardie. I should recommend her a uvb light like a reptile sun or reptiles glo.

If you want to show her with facts, print out some of the pictures and stories of the rescues. If anything that should be a real eye opener. If you could find a friend that could be middle ground that might be even better. Show her facts, I doubt she's the type of person who would knowingly starve her beardie.

i know the feeling of people who will not listen. i have a 12 year old cousin who owns a beardie. she is a year and a half old and has already had an operation for severe impaction because they had her on sand and they were telling me all about what the pet store person said. and he also thinks she's gonna grow another foot.
