Enclosure question

Hi...This weekend i'm picking up an enclosure for the beardie i'll be getting. It measures 5'x2'x2' and the guy said its a plexiglass cage he used when he had beardies. I'm getting the enclosure and stand for only $60 so I really want to make it work! I was just wondering since the enclosure is plexiglass and not glass like a normal tank will this affect heating or lighting at all? I know UV light can't travel through glass/plastic but I mainly wanted to know if plexiglass held in heat or let it out any faster or slower. Just trying to pre-plan if there are any differences I'll have to take into consideration when planning the heating part of things.

I got a 4x2x2 and the front doors are Plexiglas every time i open the door to feed the temp drops about 5 degrees or so depend the ambient temps in and around your enclosure. you could replace the top with wood or melamine so you could install a procelain fixture or and outdoor light fixture so the basking light is inside instead of out! and place a 36" florescent fixture in there and for extra light (beardies love bright light) I use a MVB from reptile UV and power glo tube from petland discount which is 185k kelvin. if your setup is connected with a frame of some sort you could easily make it happen and all is pretty cheap to... got any question about building PM im fairly competent I build my own enclosure it wasn't hard at all!

Thanks for the info...I know the enclosure i'm getting opens from the top so I guess I'll have to test the lights/heating out for awhile and see what happens. If I have any questions about building/setup after I pick it up and see it this weekend i'll send you a PM. Thanks for the help and I appreciate the offer of building help.
