emergency uvb light!

So, our UVB bulb burnt out somehow this morning. (it's only two months old! )
And reptisun bulbs are only available online for me. I can't find them anywhere in stores.
Petland used to carry them but they seem to have disappeared after the renovations.
And Petsmart has never carried them, at least not here...
Anything I can use for the few weeks it will take to get here?! Or can I just get a reptiglo for now?

I wouldn't get a reptiglo, Is there a lot of natural sunlight where you are at? By the way if you are located where it takes 2 weeks for delivery I would purchase 2 of them so you have a backup just in case. :wink:

well I'm in Northern Alberta, Canada so it's winter meaning only sunlight from about 9am to 5pm and
it's obviously way too cold to take her outside. -20c was the average this week and I think that would be -4f?!
Whatever we do get would only be used for the few weeks it takes to get here. I can't remember how
long it took last time. And being near Christmas I find things are a bit slower than normal.

I would get an opinion from a more qualified forum member but, I believe using a light that could potentially cause harm would be worse then using none at all. Like I said though please get a better opinion then mine. Rather see a safe outcome. :wink:

I would post this in the health forum...it may get a quicker response. But I think you may be told no UVB is better than a bad one.

u could just use a reptiglo i wouldnt use a 10.0 maybe a 5.0 the only reason i say this is because the reptiglo 10.0 is more powerful so the harmful rays will be stronger, i would strongly urge you to use uvb. with the 5.0 he will still get some.
