Emergency Preparedness

Since it is hurricane season that got me thinking what others do to prepare for power/gas outtages. We usually just get rain and a bit of wind from the remnants of a hurricane but it is still good to be prepared. Do people have some sort of emergency kits for their dragons? Ours is quite young and squirmy. I am not sure if he would stay under a sweater or a jacket that was worn by someone. Although, if he got cold enough he may figure it out. Instant heat packs perhaps? Thank you

I would definitely say no to instant heat packs. They can get extremely hot and burn a beardie. The last power outage I had it was only for 2 days. So I did not do anything special for my animals, other than the normal. I have not thought of long term, since i live in a pretty big city they tend to get the power up quickly. However I appreciate you bringing up this topic, now I am thinking what would I do if the power was going to be out for a week, or more.. I guess I have to start a check list...

Actually you can use the hand heater pack things, wrap them in a towel so your beardie cant get burned. Some people use them and put them in a carrier for traveling. I would have bottled water, baby foods that they can eat, betadine, some unsweetened applesauce, I am sure there is alot more stuff you could come up with.
