I would hold her around 5-10 minutes, but try at the end of the day when she is tired, place her in a comfy towel, and place her on your chest, stroking her back gently. In time she will fall right asleep on you, and that is great ! This will help her know you are safe, and her personal slave !
Let us know how she is progressing !

oh thats one thing i have going for me: she falls asleep on me. my main worry is her freaking out when I have to handle her during the day, I have to take her out of her cage when she poos because her substrate right now is paper towel.

I'm working with the 2 babys now 11 weeks old and I hold them about 10 to 15 mins each and I do that at least 3 to 4 times a day. They used to be a bit squirmy now they just sit in my hand or on my shirt and just love being petted. But after about 10 to 15 mins they want down and start squirming. Kind of like children do when they get bored and want to see something new. I'll walk them around the house, outside for a stroll in the back yard. If you have a leash plz use it if your taking them outside they tend to freak out if not used to it. Then I put them in their viv and a few hours later if i have time then i do it again.

Edit: Just wanted to add. Everyone does things diffrently its not that people are wrong its like people who wash their dishes we all do it diffrently but they usually come out the same way :D

I have a leash and she seems to tolerate it because she knows it means she can go outside.

Anyway my big problem is that she is already about 8 months old, and she wasn't held much as a baby, so it's like she has to re-learn everything
what do I do about biting?

I don't know anything about biting none of ours have ever bitten anyone or tried to. If it was me i'd just do what I wanted to do rather they bit me or not so it shows them that biting isnt going to let them get their way. Sooner or later they will stop I'd hope.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
