I'm panicking. :(

Dude pooped today, nothing unusual except for the fact he seemed to have a bit of trouble getting it out. As he was dragging his butt along I noticed the poop tear apart and he seemed to be dragging what at first appeared to be... bits of poop-covered sawdust?

I looked closer... and I see a -ton- of very small grains in his poop. It looked like (and is the size of)grits and were white/clear.

I've saved the poop in a small plastic baggy with a bit of water and plan to take it to a vet tomorrow for diagnosis, will the poop be alright till then?

Are these parasite eggs? D: If so, does anyone have any idea what they could be or have seen them before? I took a picture but can't find the cord to connect my camera to the computer.

Dude seems fine activity and appetite-wise. He still eats his green and was head bobbing at me seconds after he pooped. He -did- do one thing strange today. I took him out for a bit and when I went to put him back he puffed up at me in my hand. Dude has -never- puffed at me before. :(

I've read that they could be cricket eggs, if your beardie eats adult females. Or sand (I don't know what substrate he's got).

Make sure you keep the poop in the refrigerator until it's time to take it to the vet. My vet told me that fecal results are only good without refrigerating if you manage to get it to a vet within one hour. Good luck!

Hello,

A picture would be very helpful. As suggested, just keep the sample in the fridge in a plastic baggie & try to get it taken in within 12 hours if possible.
What type of substrate do you use, sand, tiles, paper towels?
What type of supplementation do you use & how frequently do you use it?
Were the urates unusually hard or dry?

Eek, it's been un-refridgerated since about 3 o'clock today. I won't be able to get him in till tomorrow afternoon if I'm lucky, which is about 24 hours. Will it even still be good?

I found my cord! Here's the picture of his poop:

At the moment he's on paper towels. Usually he is on sand, but hasn't been for over a month due to a trip. He gets calcium 3-4 times a week and vitamins 3-4 times a week, I usually take turns with them.

The poop did seem to be a little dryer/harder than normal, and about half the size of what he usually gets out.

Dude has an appointment with a recommended herp at Northwood Animal Hospital in Tallahassee tomorrow with a Dr... Coven? I think her name was.

Has anyone seen those before and might know what they are?

It looks like crix eggs to me. cinder and spike poop eggs when i feed her adult egg holding crix, although usually not that many in one sack lol.

i wouldn't worry too much until the doc tells you otherwise.

Well, the doctor had no idea what those eggs were. So if anyone can give me any ideas it'd great. So far, it seems to only suspect is the cricket eggs, but I'd like more opinions to be sure.

Dude got a clean bill of health, except for a case of pin worms which the doctor gave me Panacur for. Here's to hoping they'll go away! :blob5:

I bath my beardie every morning so she can poop in the bath rather in her cage.. Today the same type of eggs stayed behind in the bath... (They seemed whiter, but the exact same shape.) I also don't know what it is... But I am feeding her adult crickets as well...

Nope, no real updates. Dude is taking his Panacur fairly well and eating his greens. :love5:

I'm still waiting to see if anyone else who sees this thread has seen these before and call us for sure if they're cricket eggs. Dude did poop on Tuesday for the vet and we didn't see the eggs in there, so there is a good chance it really was just cricket eggs. Hmm!

I found out that the water can contaminate the fecal sample. I had to return w/ a fecal sample that did not have the bath water with it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
