Eggplant?

I've been gifted some eggplants from a friend's garden. I plan to eat most of it myself, but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried giving it to their beardie? Charlie tries most of the vegetables I have, as long as they are on the safe lists. I don't see eggplant at all, either safe or unsafe. Anyone have ideas?

No scientific reference site to confirm this, but my husband is a horticulturalist and has told me that eggplant is in the nightshade family, which he steers away from for our animals.
However, when I just tried to research it myself, I found sites debunking the "myths that surround nightshade veggies". ??‍
