ok, as some of you know from my other post, my female laid eggs. 18 eggs, 2 bad, 16 that looked good. I have 12 to a local breeder friend, and kept 4. Well, below is the picture of them. in my untrained eyes, only one looks like its good anymore. I don't know why the others look like they do. I keep them moist, I keep them at 83, and their temps been fairly consistent. (had one day that the temps spiked to 87 for about an hour and another day where they fell down to 79 (they fell down to this temp sometime between two times I checked the temps, I checked them about 3 hours apart from eachother.) My cat stepped on the power switch on the powerstrip. Any one have an idea about these eggs? are they bad? should I keep them going? is it some type of fungus on the eggs? Or am I just over worried? I Have a feeling its not good, And I want to find out asap, to keep the one egg that looks like it still can be good away from the others. also, if they are ok, what is with the weird size of the one on the top right? It changed to that size in two days.

Thanks

Hi there....how old are the eggs ? They do look " off ", it looks like they've gotten too wet. That being said, don't throw them out yet. Not unless they actually grow mold on them an continue to shrivel. How are you keeping them moist ? If you put too much water in, or put it directly on the eggs [ like spraying ], it could kill them. The temperature fluctuations would have no effect on them at all. It would have to go above 90 in general to kill them, [ amd if it were very briefly it would not necessarily ] and lower temps. don't harm them unless it's for extended periods and much lower than 79.

Well to keep them moist, they are in a plastic container with lid and holes drilled in it. I spray the sides of that container. Water has dripped off the lid and ma have dropped onto the eggs.

Could you put paper towels over the eggs and spray the paper towel?

well, yes three of them did not make it. My fault. So the one on the bottom right of the picture above is still looking great. She just laid her second clutch yesterday, 30 eggs. WOW!! pictures and story in my original post of my two. viewtopic.php?f=49&t=176612

What I have been told and seen on here, is if needed, like you said, use a lightly damp paper towel. Her other 30 eggs are doing great and I am taking them down week from today to my breeder friend.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
