Hi guys, first I would like to thank all of you for all the advice that you give. I have learned a lot from reading every post and believe me i check it every night for new ones.
I seem to have a problem and I need to know if it will correct itself or will I be Gizmo's slave for the rest of his life(not that I mind)!
Gizmo will eat crix as long as I hand feed them with tongs - otherwise he will let them crawl all over him. he use to eat his greens if I put a few hornworms or silk worms in the dish. He has sworn off silk worms for the time being (I hope) and will only eat hornworms and his greens if I hand feed him. He will sit on his basking rock and open his mouth I then can put the greens or hornworm in his mouth and then he eats and opens for more. I know that he was eating because he gained 100 grams from when I got him in Nov until now (he is 2 yrs old). This has been recent due to the fact that i was home for 6 weeks due to surgery, and was able to spend a lot of time with him. I even have a picture of him eating his greens I wook in January. When I first got him the told me that he only ate kale and about a dozen crix a week. Now he eats hornworms 1-2 a day collard greens and mustard greens with an assortment of fruit and butternut squash. he wil also eat a dozen crix at a time for me. He poops regularly (everytime he takes a bath at least 3x a week and now he has been pooping as long as he is out of his tank. Makes it easier for me to clean )
I guess my question is if I don't hand feed him will he eventually go back to eating on his own? and how long will this take I don't want to starve him either. (I don't mind the crix but I would like him to eat his greans on his own.
Thanks for the help!
