Eating habits of Colasis

ok so I thought I would keep a log of what he ate every day for 2 weeks just to see how he was doing and this is what I came up with , I did try every day to give him roaches some days he just walked away and wouldnt eat them.
1/1 - 15.5 inches long weight 288 grams- vegis 1/2-2roaches-vegis 1/3-3 roaches-vegis 1/4- vegis 1/5-12 mealworms(all gone now)-vegis 1/8- 1 roach-vegis 1/9- 1 roach- vegis 1/10- 1 roach- vegis 1/11-vegis 1/12 -vegis 1/13- 3 roaches-vegis 1/14- vegis 1/15- vegis
It seems like at times he just gobbles up the roaches while on other days he could care less, in March he will be around 1 year old, he does have all the proper lighting and I check the temp regulary around the 100's for basking, my question is this my husband feels like he should be eating the roaches every day but my opinion is that maybe he doesnt want meat every day is it ok if he doesnt want to eat them every day, I tried putting them on the floor , in the tank , on tweezers right in front of him, and he just looks at me like I am stupid and to get the things out of his sight or at least thats how I feel. Now his vegis on the other hand he goes to town on every morning.

ok so again for the past 2 days he ate he vegis like nothing then I got him to eat 1 roach yesterday,how can i get him to eat more should i try the roaches in the morning instead of the vegis?

Could it be that the roaches are a little bigger than what his little tummy wants, that just a couple fills him up?
It could also be that he doesn't favor roaches. Not every beardie likes what other beardies like -- they all have their own preference in live feeders. Unfortunately, you might have to spend some extra money and try a variety of feeders (worms, roaches, crickets).

It's good that he's eating all of his veggies. Most of us have the reverse of what you're going through :wink:
