***** Heres a good tip for a nice Breeder setup!

-Go on craiglist and look up "FREE FURNITURE"
-Look for someone who is giving away a BookShelf that is in great shape or at least descent shape.
-Clean it out really well with disinfectant.

-Make a Square Frame with the length x height of the Bookshelf ("Cage length") and the width of wood should be 2''-3''.
-Nail the Square Frame Together and use a small amount of Wood Glue to fasten it securly.
Go to Lowe's/HomeDepot and have them Cut a Couplt of Sheets of Plexi-Glass ("Windows") to back the Square-Wood Frame you just built.
-Glue the Plexi-Glass windows to the wood frame with Industrial Strength Super Glue for Plastic-to-Wood surfaces. ***If you intend to screw the Plexi to the wood... Drill Holes FIRST! The screws will crack the plexi glass almost immediatly!
-Allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
-Connect the "DOOR" you now have built to the "CAGE" (Bookshelf) by using a simple Hinge in the door/window department. You can fancy or go cheap with the hinge styles.
-To add a lock on the opposite side of the Cage Door (This will allow it to swing open like a DOOR would Open/Close.... Buy a Hook & Loop. Kind of looks like the Loop used to screw into your house to hand christmas lights outside with... It
comes with a loop with a threaded end to turn and screw into the wood.

You can get your Light fixtures at Home Depot/Lowes and screw them into each "Ceiling" part of each "Cage/Shelf" that the bookshelf came with. And Drill a small hole in the back to run the wiring.

I have cut a square area on each side of the bookshelf before to add an "Air-Conditioning Vent" for Ventilation. I would advise to do this... Or Drill 20+ holes on each side of the bookshelf to allow proper Air Flow.

You can seal all unwanted or mistaken holes/cracks with wood putty or Caulk.

This sounds like a lot of Information, its not. Its just a detailed way to explain a 2-3 hour job on Building a Breeder Setup. I have done this with many bookshelves, and they all come out great & Professional looking.

This is also Great for someone who is not good with carpentry or Woodwork!

Tip: You may want to leave the last bookshelf on the bottom "EMPTY" so it can come in handy as a convenient STORAGE AREA to keep Gutload, Cricket Bins, Cricket food, supplies, etc.

Any questions... I'de be happy to answer. Just glad to pass on a good tip for Starting Breeders. who want to save space. Building UP is alot easier than Adding tanks all over the House! Been there... Done that.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
