Dusting Questions

well my question is everyone is telling me somthing different when it comes to dusting =\ my bearded dragon is one year old seems very healthy but is quite small and not even close to the size of most beardies i see hes long but not very wide im not sure why how should i dust a beardies food how many times a week with what he's a year and a few months old but pretty small for his age =\ plz help =(
