Dusting/Feeding Question?

I had a question about dusting. I adopted a 3 year old female beardie yesterday.

I went into the petstore yesterday and got some Fluker's Calcium: Phosphorus (http://www.petguys.com/-091197730080.html) because it was discontinued at that location and was $3/bottle....so I figured why not? I'd ask about it and see if it was any good.

I already have some Rep-Cal Calcium with D3 (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754048).

What's the main difference with these two products and should I feed both/alternate/just one? When and how often?

I also need to get some Vitamin dust, correct? Is the Rep-Cal Herptivite good? (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754047) How often should you feed with Vitamin dust?

Hi Cleo.

Regarding the Fluker's Calcium and Rep Cal's calcium. They both are calcium products, rep cal contains D3 which enables the dragons to synthesize UVB. I can't comment on Fluker's as i haven't used it before. I would suggest use one for feeding, probably only when 1 is used up then only swap to the next bottle.
And yes you do require a multivitamin supplement, i have used herptivite for 4 years now and it's doing great!

I would personally would stay with the Rep-Cal Calcium, due to it being phosphorus free. I do know that too much phosphorus can cause problems with calcium absorption. The Rep-Cal Herptivite is good. I also have used both the Rep-Cal calcium and Herptivite for years with my two beardies.
As far as how much to give an adult beardie... calcium 3 x a week and the multivitamin 1 x a week.
I don't know how much you have researched feeding an adult dragon, but just in case... their diet should consist of 80% greens and 20% protein.
Fresh salads daily and between 30-50 live feeders a week. Also here is a great food chart to use that is color coded as to what to feed and how often http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html

Thanks! The only thing that was confusing me was the difference between all the dusts I think I will stick with the Rep-Cal.
