Aside from not having much control over himself which can't be fun, he is OK. He scared me on Thursday though. I came home and he was curled up in the corner of his tank with a dark black beard and no color and his eyes closed. I think he over heated a bit. I got him into a lukewarm bath to cool him down and held him for a while and he got his energy back. The house heated up (it got over 80 outside) and his basking spot shot up to 120 during the day. I've put his screen top back on and raised the basking light so his basking spot is at around 96 now (of course the temps are back to the 50s now)Constant tweaking, those lights. His cool side was at 80 but I'm not sure why he didn't move there. Maybe he was trying to induce a fever. More evidence to back why I'm always telling people to get accurate thermometers and make their lights easy to adjust.

I'm sad to say Dundee died a few hours ago. He started going downhill on Monday night. I stayed up all night with him and he couldn't close his eyes or sleep, lost his color and his energy. I held him all last night and this morning he wasn't able to fight any more. He was a tough little guy and I'm glad we were able to give him at least a few happy months. We did all we could for him. We love him and miss him. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement. It means a lot to know that he had people all over the world pulling for him.

Oh this breaks my heart!

You gave him a good life, though. In the end, that's all we can do ... Make them happy and safe for the little time that we have them.

Very sorry to hear he didn't make it, all credit due for the amount of time and resource dedicated to trying to give him a better life.

Do you plan to get a necropsy performed in an attempt to understand the underlying issues? (Apologies if that is difficult to think about)

I wanted to express my deep sympathy as well, it's so sad when you've tried so hard and watched a beloved pet die despite all the efforts taken. You tried everything you could have and were the best thing that ever happened to Dundee. I'm truly sorry that you lost your little man. :(

Read this thread front to back, and cried at the very end. I'm so sorry for your loss. You're a great person though, for all the effort you gave to give Dundee happiness in the end. You're a truly special human being and I personally want to thank you for all you have done. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I picked up Dundee a year ago today. Time really flew by. Feels like yesterday we were driving back from Kansas through tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. At the time I didn't expect him to survive the week. Now I'm incredibly sad that he isn't here for his "birthday". I read through his whole thread again this afternoon. I'm very glad I recorded his adventure. The end was so rough that I'd almost forgotten how much progress he made - even eating small bits of food on his own. He made a very positive impact on me and I miss him quite a lot. Most of the photos I took of him are on film so they're tougher to share but here's some "bonus footage" I found. He's sitting on my lap and watching a Jimmy Buffett show on TV.

He's a parrothead from way back. Coop hated the Coral Reefers though. Here's another shot that has some of the film prints I put up on the tank. A phone picture doesn't really do it justice though. I practiced getting back into film by stalking Dundee around the house and taking a ton of photos. I'm now very glad I did this as well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
