Dubia's eating each other?

Hello,

In the last few days i have noticed that my dubia's (mostly the adults) all look like they are being eaten. One of my males wings are all chewed off, one of my females body is all chewed. At least this is what it looks like to me. I started putting extra food in there thinking maybe i wasn't giving them enough. They didn't eat any of the extra food at all though, and it actually attracted ants :banghead: . I have had a about 10 dubia's die in the past 3-4 days. Anyone know whats going on?? The temp right now is 86 degrees F in the bin. They are having babies just as fast as they were before. Everything is normal other then that.

Yup sometimes it will attract ants. And roaches are carnivorous too. Just make sure they have plenty of food and Water crystals too. If they dont have water then that may be something causing them to turn on easch other too.

I actually don't give them water. Instead i give them squash all smashed up. Figured they were getting water from that. I had water in the bin at one time but they didn't eat any of it.

Are you over crowded at all? The tattered wings can be a sign of male competition. The cannibalism might be from some missing resource (water, food, protein etc) though, usually the eaten roaches are missing their head and insides. Was she eaten or just in rough shape but still alive?

What food do you offer?

I'm not sure of over crowded. I give them squash all smashed up, as i said above i have given them squash instead of water because they don't seem to eat/drink the water crystals i had in there. i also give them a orange slice and fish food everyday. the Male with its wings only had part of its wings left and the female was eaten pretty good but still alive. This morning there was a adult dead however i didn't check if it was one that was eaten or not as i was in a hurry. I have noticed some medium sized ones dead missing their heads though.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
